Lest we forget…

Anzac day 2009. We had one of the best organised swells that has come to our shores for a long time. Neat three wave sets with a 12 second period were pushing up every few minutes from the east with 10 knot westerlies to keep things clean.
Sharkies worked all day through the tides with a steep take-off into walling and occasionally barreling lefts that must have been 6ft on the sets. The morning session was dominated by Scott Little who was right at home on the big lefts…
The Public holiday crowd squabbled over the left overs…
..and the lidders at headies were getting shack after shack…

The East Coast Low that has been producing swell for almost a week now has moved north and is pushing a straight 3-4ft east swell onto the coast. The winds were NW all morning and there were options galore all around. The hard part was choosing where to go…

The groms have been in heaven with waves for nearly every day of their school holidays.
Day two

Sunrise on the second day of this new autumn swell. It had eased off a bit and maybe had a bit more east in it. A lumpy 4-5ft, perhaps bigger on the sets..
It was a bit messy and junky at times, especially after the clean ups..
That you had to contend with occasionally…
But there was gold to be found. Antman finds himself in the right spot..

After months of watching pictures of amazing waves from QLD vicco and WA it is finally our turn. Solid chunks came from the SE earlier than predicted by the usual site on Sunday. THere was joy to be had all day with a morning sou’wester and then southerly for the rest of the day. There were big peaks and some great lines at the point. Heaps of waves to go around the stoked crowd…
shooting conditions were difficult with bad light and rain blurring the housing lens but have a look at sessions ( on the right ) to see what was on..
